So I picked a citizen model of the beretta 3901, basically a 390 in 12 gauge for duck hunting this year and after taking it out to break it in i realized i need some recoil device in order to comfortably shoot this thing. It comes with a plastic recoil pad so i know that isnt helping, but i dont think that changing the pad alone will keep me from having a sore shoulder so i was considering the Auto Buster fron Ken Rucker with a Kickeez pad. Anybody have this system installed on their 390 or 3901? 300 bucks is worth it to me to keep from having a sore shoulder, but does it work? They make a Bump Buster that not only includes a spring action, but hydraulic as well, but i dont think i have the room in my synthetic stock so im looking at the auto buster. Any input will help.

Auto buster on a beretta 390?

Before you invest in band aides, does your gun fit properly? I learned that most recoil issues with shotguns are due to improper fit, not the gun at all.
Example; I have a Beretta Silver Pigeon. I shoot about 110/115 shots on the skeet range before I even begin to feel it. My son's shooting buddy is much taller. When he shoots my gun, it literally imparts massive bruising (not exaggerating) after 2-3 shots! He's a big boy, too!
How does a gun destroy one shoulder and baby handle another?? Fit.
After you get your gun fitted correctly, then work the recoil issue.
