    Remington Side Saddle Question

I was wondering if any of you guys know if the mesa tac 4 shot side saddle will fit a 870 with standard fore-end. One of the ones that passes the receiver by about an inch.

I don't think so rack the slide and look at where the forend stops on the receiver.

I believe the 4 & 6 shot Mesa side saddle should fit with No mods.

I have a 8 on mine and it required i trim off about an 1 - 1.5in of the forend.

The 6-shot will NOT work w/ the standard fore-end. I'm guessing the 4-shot would, but unfortunately I don't know for sure.

        6-shot = not enough clearance.

My 870 came with the Tac Star 4 shot side saddle with the Remington stock forend with no interference, so it will work. I made the switch to a Mesa tactical 6 shot side saddle and I installed a Speedfeed LE forend.

I used a hacksaw. took 5 minutes. did it with the forend still on the rails.

Cool, hopefully soon I'll find some wood stock at a reasonable price to chop to fit if I choose to go bigger than four.

If you have the Sport forend niether the 6 or the 4 round Mesa will work without modifying the forend. If you go with the 4 then you only have to knotch about 1/2" from the top corner of the forend. You do not have to cut it off all the way.

I am a Mesa Dealer and feature these on my custom builds and have installed hundreds of the shell holders so this is the correct answer.

                      Well that settles it.

                      Thank you.
