    Vandenberg Rod & Gun Club

Here is an ariel view of the Vandenberg AFB Rod & Gun Club, located outside of Lompoc, California, on Vandenberg AFB.

The club is located just off the beach with a fantastic view. We have 2 skeet/trap ranges, 25,50 and 100 yard pistol/rifle range.

The club consists of 3 huts, the first hut holds the clubhouse, store and meeting areas. The middle hut has been converted to an indoor archery range and pellet/air gun range. The third hut holds all our equipment and has a walkin cooler and butchering area for hunters.

Membership is open to Military, Base Contractors, Federal Employees and DOD personnel. Civilians can participate in scheduled events but are not eligible for membership.

For more information go to http://www.30svs.com/svbr.html

We have special events scheduled throughout the month to include Shotgun events (Trap/Skeet/5 Stand/Sporting Clays), pistol Events (Bullseye, Silhouettes, Action pistol, Bowling Pin) and Rifle (Dewars Match, Any-Any Rifle)

The range is available for target shooting 7 days a week, sunup to sunset. Shooting is unsupervised, members (guests allowed with active members) only. Range rules are followed and the range is routinely patrolled by the Military Police. Trap and Skeet fields are only available during store hours.

If your wondering what that is below the club huts, it is an old abandoned missile silo. Go here for pics...very interesting!

I live in Lompoc. Do you have access to the range and can you bring along a guest?

Vandenberg is a fabulous AFB I grew up there in the 70's. I lived at on Cedar Street. I really miss those days.

I wish there was a way I could join you guys down there sometime.

Thanks for reminding me of the good times.

Where was "College Ave"? I don't remember it and I could not find it on a map.

When did you live there? I lived there from around 1969 - 1977
