    Hatsan MP/A Range Report

Went to Rahaagues today and shot a good amount of variety through the new toy and besides one "new guy" mistake The gun performed flawlessly and ate everything I gave it. The user error was not allowing a round to fully enter the tube before letting go, so it came back out of the tube and split the two "guide bars" I don't know the terminology. After some help from "Hawk" we were able to push the round back up the tube and everything worked fine from then on out. I shot the Winchester PDX12 some Win rifled slugs and 00, some 3" 00, some 6 and 71/2" birdshot rounds and everything cycled cleanly.

I am not super great with distances but the first 4 shots(now that I look at the pic I think it was 5 shots) were maybe from 10+ yards away(?) a little low but effective. PDX 12 rounds

Then I shot 4 slugs at the head from 15+ yards with pretty good accuracy. The last pick was before I left I had been messing around with shooting as fast as I could and from the end of the stall which is what 30 yards?

I am very happy. The 3" rounds had some kick but the recoil was not all that bad.

I shot mine yesterday also, my sights were low had to use the rear sight adjuster to bring it up. Dead center from the factory though. I also had a round get trapped between the bars so dont feel bad. The trigger is not the greatest, has a weird "up" release to it. My reloaded birdshot did not cycle 100% but did cycle much more often then not. 00B and slugs ran great.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.

I went out with mine today. Fed it everything from birdshot, to some whack *** 2 3/4" Remington 00 Magnum Express shells I had lying around. Ouch, those one's hurt. Shot some 3" through it too. Problem's I experience, included not cycling the #8 shot Winnie shells out of the chamber, and the top rail came loose and basically killed the zero'ing I did with the Truglo.

I'm not sure if the first issue was due to lack of lube, or just the lower power rounds not wanting to push the gas. I lube things up and it ran pretty well until the later part of the day, and it started giving me issues again on the birdshot. I had a good group with the slugs, but kept jumping around (thanks loose rail!). The higher powered shells I ran through it never made it blink. I'm gonna pull it a part and clean/oil it and see what happens.

Overall, I lubbed it. And I couldn't keep the range rats away from it. Every one had to come look at it. Especially when I was just jacking rounds through it as fast as I could. A 12 gauge semi-auto is always a crowd pleaser.

I spoke with Legacy Intl the importers of the gun and they said that the rail issue is common. He suggested a lil lock tite. Can you take pics when you break it down to clean?

I pick mine up from the San Diego Big 5 on Tuesday. Can't wait to take it out.

The manager was SUPER helpful and even though they had sold their single unit, he called around and had one transferred for me.

Anyways...where do I lube the shotgun as you referred?

            Thanks,

            MIke

So I Locktite'd the rail on the top and redid my boresite in the backyard last night. Today I took it back out to the range. Shot four slugs at 25 yards and made one small adjustment to the Tru-glo. After that, I'll I can say is "wow!" At fifty yards I was almost dead on. I got crazy and started shooting at the 100 yard target that I was killing with my AR. Actually was able to hit the target a couple of times with the slugs. This is without a doubt my new favorite gun.

Still having FTE's here and there with the cheap azz wally world Winnie #8 shells. Gonna break it apart tomorrow and lube it up real good and see what happens. Had one FTE with a Escort 00 but only one, and the rest worked flawlessly. No issues at all with the slug rounds. Those Turkish cats really knocked it out of the ballpark with this boomstick. For the price, even with the Tru-glow, you can't beat it. Never thought I could get a round on target with a shotgun at 100 yards. I'm dutifully impressed.
