I like the Galil charging handle. And since the Saigas are really similar in design, I've always felt it'd be a good upgrade on an AK type weapon. Yours appears taller (or maybe the silver color is what I'm not liking)... but I've never liked AR stocks on non AR weapons (including AKs and Mossberg 500s).

I gotta admit you get points for creativity (using an AK gas piston).

Yeah. That buffer tube attachment is my least favorite item on the gun. My intention was to use the vltor aluminum one but everybody was out of stock when I was ordering parts. I may revisit that now that they are available. This gun is such a money pit I just keep spending and spending. I just dropped sixty bucks on a ca legal drum mag. It comes tomorrow!

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't your trigger guard billet aluminum and the bullet button/mag latch enclosure made from steel. How was it welded?

that Saiga is really NICE i really like it. The chrome gas piston is great, the stock is really nice too. I like the BB and all the upgrades on the front handgaurds BUT i have to agree with others re the NC Star but I totally understand if thats all you can afford at this time. As the OP stated it will be upgraded. IMO I dont like scopes/red dots etc on shotguns but its always about doing whatever you like.

very nice job. enjoy that beast, your gonna be the talk of any range you show up @ with that thing!!!!

Carolina shooter supply was where I got 95% of my parts for this build but the bullet button came with the gun from dds ranch. I had to cut it down myself with a dremel before I had it welded.

How is the stock pinned? If it is done using a bolt where the adjustment pin is, the recoil compensation will still work. Is that how you did it?

If you get a tube that is in line with the receiver, that stock will work better. On the AK it is not designed to be slanted back our dropped down.

This weekend I took off the slanted stock mount and put on the vltor straight aluminum stock tube. Much nicer. I will take a pic and post it later today. I drilled and tapped a hole in the top of the stock (under the cheek riser) and secured it with a bolt.
