Which Surefire for Remington 870?

Primary use is for HD. It seems like the 618LM is a better buy...double the lumens for only $5 more?

Also, does anyone know where to get these for a good price?

Opinion only here, but brighter isn't always better. The higher powered module is so bright it will flood an entire room with light bouncing it off the walls... which includes lighting you up as well.

I've been running a 618FA for many years at a rated 120 lumens and it is just fine. I think you'll be plenty well served with the 318 model.

What's wrong with lighting up the whole room? If I have a flashlight on, a bad guy will know where I am anyway, right?

The only reason I hesitate on the 618FA is that it's not a LED. Is that a legitimate concern?

I obtained mine before LEDs became the deal. I used Surefire incandescent units in LE for a long time. They work, every time, in my experience. If I ever burn up the bulb that's on my gun now, I'll probably buy a conversion module.

Lighting up the whole room, is good and bad. If it's so bright you're dazzled just as much as the bad guy, then it is bad.

You think wrong. I am a Surefire Dealer. I was advised that they are no longer availiable when I made my last order and was unable to obtain any. I am down to only few left and had to increase my order of the 618LF's.

I just went with a generic sure fire look alike on my wingmaster 870, works great. i think it was 120 lumen, and a conventional bulb.

my setup, remington 870 wingmaster with pistol grip, tri rail forend, forend pistol grip, red laser, and flash light. barrel is 18inch.

Since you are a Surefire dealer do you know which LED upgrade is the correct one for a 624FA (Ithaca 37 - discontinued a long time ago). It uses the P60 lamp assembly. Can I drop in a P60L assembly, do I use the KX4 (which is supposed to be for any light that used a P60), or do I have to use the LM1-BK / LM2-BK? Surefire's website is not much help.

Don't know about some of the bulbs and models you are asking about but would say you can change any bulb as long as it is the 6V since every forend is the same and only the bulb determines the out put when used with the correct batteries. Screw the LM lamp on your 618FA and it becomes a 618LM. Since there is no difference except the bulb in the 618FA and 618LF or LM it has to be the same with your model. A call to Surefire will answer this correctly.

Note: I used to be wrong about everything. I then divorced her and now I am generally right about everything. But call Surefire to make sure before you buy one.
