It must be the 870 Express Synthetic. Remington lists it as 7 round, but I think they list # of rounds in the mag tube, and Big 5 lists mag tube + chamber. Or it's 7+1 w/ 3" shells and 8+1 with shorter shells.

i think the "security" is just something big 5 adds on for short barrel shotguns.

Its an 870 and thats a good price.

I just purchased the 7rd 18" barrel version last week for $309.99 (mail in rebate is $30.00)

There are a dizzying number of slightly different 870's for sale in the market that Remington doesn't list on their website. I bought that shotgun (or one very similar to it) at Big-5 last year for $319. It holds 7 in the magazine plus 1 in the chamber. I can't imagine where you'd find a better deal.

Thanks for the input guys. I did some shopping around on various websites and gun broker and could not find a better price. I ended up buying it today. I am going to post the shopping experience in the off topic forum in a few minutes.
