    Law Enforcement Top folder stock

Well a buddy of mine just snagged one of the super rare 870 law enforcement top folding stocks off of ebay. He's been on cloud nine for a week now as the one he found looked pretty good. Well he brought it to me for another look and I found the plastic pistol grip had a hairline crack almost completely through the grip.

My question is, does anyone including remington make a replacement or does anyone know of someone that may have some NOS grips for this stock?

We're looking into some plastic repair methods for a temp fix, but we'll need a more perm fix sooner or later.

    Thanks,
    shrub

hard to find... but not rare.

based on the information you've given, i'd suggest your friend contact the seller and return the stock for refund.

there is one that appears to be in good shape on Gunbroker internet auction site right now; 15 hours left on the auction.

If you can't return or find a replacement you might look into Tech Bond adhesives. Your pg is probably poly or nylon and the usual store adhesives will not work. I used their "Poly" bond and it worked for me on some nylon stock parts. With a hairline crack I don't know what specific preparation you might need, so I suggest you call their customer service department and ask for advise. Here's some info to get you started:

I might just be missing it, but I didn't see the brand or model number listed. That would be helpful. If the seller will not allow the return the manufacturer will probably warranty it. Is it a Knoxx (Blackhawk now)? Advanced Technologies? Those are the two top folders I am aware of.

i'm sure it's the old Remington metal top folder that is labeled "Law Enforcement Use Only" vertically across the metal stock. it is labeled "Remington" on the pistol grip, which is a hard plastic.

Since after firing it once you are unlikely to ever want to fire it again, I wouldn't worry about a hairline crack.

That's not a problem, considering my other projects, making this stock comfortable should be relatively easy.

But it can't be used with a mesatactical 6 shot side saddle if that's what your saying. ( I tried).
