    Saiga 12 BB is here!

    Hello all,

I have just finished the first phase of my Saiga 12 BB.

    What I have done
made the bracket to hold the shroud from a standard 34 cent galvanized "L" bracket
made the shroud from 1" aluminium tubing
    used (3) #4-40 X 3/8" screws
drilled all the proper holes and added a rubber grommet to the shroud
added a plastic end cap to the tubing

    What I have to do
sand and file all rough edges
    paint
    apply locktite to all screws
    install factory magazine catch
install gas piston, bolt and carrier
    take pics

Sorry I won't have pics up till some time tomorrow, my wife is waiting for me to take her out to dinner and my boy keeps trying to play with my tools.

Gonna be an interesting bullet button for a 12 gauge shell to work.

I can't wait to see it. I'm pretty interested in a Saiga...

More along the lines of how would you get a BB out of state to put on a Saiga before it is shipped into CA?

                      You have a couple of options;

Send the mag lock out to a dealer and have them install it before it ships

                      or

Disassemble the shotgun into a barreled receiver. A Saiga shotgun is not illegal by name only because it is a semi auto with the ability to accept detachable mags.

Is that an option? You would still have to DROS it, and therefore it would be consider firearm.

You would have to go through an FFL and DROS it just like any other firearm. Another option would have the gas port filled in and it definitely wouldn't be semi-auto.

The only concern i have is if our FFL's will except them.

As far as the BB the Vendor will take care of that.
