    870 Express only 6 Shells?

I can only fit 6 in there - I was under the impression that it held 9, it sure looks like it holds 9.

    Anyone?

    Thanks,
    Tony

Depends on what you buy. I bought my 870 with extended mag tube and it holds 6 and one in the chamber. I think stock it holds four and one in the chamber.

      nope,

but if you get a 20" bbl, you can get the 3 shot extension. Thing is 10 shot SG's get a tad heavy and unwieldy. i actually downgraded one 870 I have to a +1 extension because it swings good and it looks less modified.

Standard Rem tube holds 4 rounds. Add +2 tube like on the 870 HD model and you have 6+1. That's usually with the 18" barrel. They also make a 20" barrel HD model that has a +3 extension (7+1).

        The 20" barrel mossberg 590 holds 8+1.

The highest capacity shotty with the shortest barrel I've found is the no longer produced Win. 1300 Defender. 18" barrel with a 7+1 capacity.

Obviously shell size matters. Not all 2 3/4" shells are the same length.

If you have an older Benelli or if you modify the bolt carrier on a newer one you can get a 18" Benelli to hold 9.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

I just bought a box of these, they look pretty cool, haven't tried em yet, but I cycled them through and it seems like they don't load properly because they are too small. Is there any trick to quickly load them in there? Or are you just loading it one at a time?

Mini-shells don't work in all guns - some guns need mods.

They'll cycle in a Winchester 1300, but ejection is a bit weak compared to full size rounds.

Here's my range report of my 1300 Defender with mini-shells.
