Has anyone had any experience with these i see them pretty cheap at big 5 sometimes but never had the pleasure or displeasure of using one. For the price they look decent (couple hundred) i already have the trusty mossy 500 but looking for a sidekick for it thanks

charles daly shotguns any good

The company that was importing them from Turkey under the Charles Daly name, KBI, went out of business over a year ago. There is no longer "factory" support available, at least not without somehow getting through to the manufacturer in Turkey, which was/is Akkar. Not sure if anyone is importing Akkar made guns into the US, but if so they'd probably be very similar to the later CD guns.
Numrich has some parts, but not a lot. Any new CD guns you find now have been sitting around in inventory for probably a couple of years and would likely be priced to closeout.
Their recent semi-autos aren't terrible. I know a couple guys who have them, and have had good use with them. I've shot those guy's guns and they perform well enough. The late production pumps, semi-autos and Model 206 all take Rem-choke thread pattern choke tubes. They are okay as hunting guns, you won't mind knocking it around or getting honest wear on it, but I would not expect them to take tons of rounds shooting clays. One guy I know with one recently broke the locking lug in his bolt and he had quite a time trying to find a replacement. Numrich was eventually able to take care of him after some back and forth.
If you decide to buy one, consider buying a second and setting it aside for parts should you ever need them.
That said.... older Charles Daly marked shotguns from the 60's and 70's were made by Miroku in Japan, which also made Browning guns for many years. Those are generally top quality guns and if one can be found in good shape they definitely are worth a look. There were also CD marked SxS that came in from Spain from the mid 1990's utnil about 2005 and over / unders made by Sabatti in Italy.Last edited by BigDogatPlay; 08-19-2011, 4:59 PM.

why bother when there are so many good guns out there? Better off to buy a used name brand then a new CD.People who hug trees shouldn't live in wooden houses!Comment

You could get an escort mp (looks identical to the charles daly tactical)
I just bought one from big 5 today. On sale for 299$ which is a steal considering the great reviews I always see about escort shotguns. Comes with adjustable ghost ring sights and fiber optic inserts, A2 style stock with additional slots to hold 2 extra shells (kinda like a cheaper version of a speed feed stock) pistol grip. Rails, Seemed real nice quality and has all the extra features some of the more exensive guns don't have (and I usually don't buy cheap guns and I approved)
Hopefully it stays faithful to meLast edited by xxINKxx; 08-19-2011, 9:14 PM."If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so." - Thomas JeffersonComment
