Ithaca- Zabala?? UPDATE check post 4

Friend was asking me about this shotgun that a friend of his wants to sell him. I haven't seen it (working on that due to extreme confusion this has caused). My friend wrote down some info that his friend says is on the gun, here is some of the info.

    Ithaca

    Made in Spain

    Zabala

    1.3

    ZH####### (i forgot the number)

Ithaca and Zabala never made any shotguns together that I can find ANYWHERE. I need to see the shotgun, because neither of these guys are true gun people so I'm guessing they messed up someplace. But has ANYONE heard of an Ithaca/Zabala shotgun????

To refine: I know Ithaca is a company, and I know Zabala is a company, my question is have they ever collaborated? Or is there any reason both names would be on one shotgun?

I would be VERY surprised to hear that Ithaca allowed its name to be put on a Hermanos Zabala gun. Is he perhaps misreading "Eibar" for "Ithaca"???? Sometimes the low-end Zabalas were not stamped very carefully..... Or was the IMPORTER in Ithaca, NY????

Anything can happen (including fakery). Ithaca did go thru some very tough times in the '90s when it was in receivership and barely alive. But I never heard of them allowing their name on any but very good guns (mainly SKB doubles).

Ha ok found out the confusion. The guy brought the shotgun in an Ithaca box, but it was a Zabala. Some idiot just took one look at the box and told him it was worth 800$. So imagine his dissapointment when I told him it was worth about 350$. Anyways it was a 12G with 3" chamber. Tight locking, hardly used if ever. Nice lookin, but not worth tons.
