I'm saving up to purchase a semi-auto shotgun with a sporter style stock (no pistol grip please).
This will be my first shotgun and I'll initially be using it for sporting clays in order to learn the basics of weapons handling, safety, and marksmanship. Eventually I'd like to be able to put this shotgun to use for home protection without having to go out and buy a new gun.
After looking at all the major companies it seems that most of them have a long length of pull (the benelli m2/3/4, the mossberg 930 and the remington 1100/1187 all have 14" LOP or more).
There are several youth shotguns (i.e. Weatherby SA-08, Mossberg SA-20, TriStar Viper G2) but I'm not sure about Turkish made guns. Also, the last few lessons I took, everyone was using 12 gauge.
Are there any good semi-automatic shotguns with a short length of pull?
Should I just go with 20 gauge?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks guys!
