I finally made the benelli malfunction

Well, I knew it was just a matter of time, but I finally got the benelli to malfunction.

Took about a good 8+ months of no cleaning and dirty walmart federal and winchester universal bulk packs.

I'd say I put about 1000-1400 rounds down the pipe without ever cleaning it. This weekend during a match she decided to stop running on me. Even after just a spray of lube I still had failures to eject and failures to load but she never failed to fire. I just had to run the bolt manually and cycle the action.

So, off to the garage I go for a full field strip and cleaning. I'm going to see how long I can go without cleaning it again.

I've had mine (M1S90) since about '93, no complaints, it eats everything. I ran a similar test yeasrs ago and it took awhile for it to eventually FTF/FTE, but it always fired after a manual cycle.

            Nicely done...

I was speaking with a competition shooter/instructor at the Raahuage Shootout in June. He has the same "experiment" himself. He's on 3,000+. No malfunctions at all on a Vinci (reciprocating, not gas). He claims his buddy is on 5,000.

Just claims but the Benelli reliability can not be doubted. Absolutely the standard in shotgun reliability.

Great news! I hate cleaning guns, but my M2 Salient is so easy to clean.
Only takes about 15 minutes, and that is taking the firing pin out, compared to 30-45 to clean my Remington 1100 and the Benelli is a lot less messy. I have run about 400 round between cleanings and even then, the barrel only needs 1 pass of a bore snake.
If you can't shoot good, at least look good shooting

Still came in second manually running the bolt after each shot.

Fred smoked the match with his 870.

I find that my M1s90 doesn't like the winchester but the federal bulk pack works great. Were you using winchester?
