    870 solid steel Extractor

I was told today by the third person that they ordered this extractor from Brownells (can't verify that and only going by their word) and it was to wide and they had to grind it down to fit. Hearing this from three people in the past month is why I am posting this and will share what I told them.

They did not receive part # 16176 which is the solid steel Extractor for the 870. What they received is part F93503 and is the extractor for the 11-87. It is wider and will not fit in the 870 breech bolts. Yes, it will work if ground down to fit but may not be reliable and should not be used except in the 11-87.

So, no matter where you get this part if it is to to wide to fit your 870 send it back as it is the wrong part.

Surprised anyone on Shotgun World was smart enough to know it was the wrong part. Bet they were blaming Remington.

No, shooting slugs. Will not say those guys are clowns but I do wonder how some of them walk in in those long floppy shoes.

              lol, harsh words.

It was actually a google result. Was actually looking for any reasons my 870 express would be stovepiping so much.

Either way my part is coming from midwayUSA, so hopefully it's the correct part.

That's it. Keep the MIM one as I have a belief that any part that was working when you changed it should be kept just in case. We don't know what is going to become of the gun world in the comming years. Parts may be at a primium then and any working part could make a difference in whether that weapon is ready when needed.
