    Remington 870.....

I haven't looked at the price of an 870 in quite a few years....how is this price?

Looks like it is $320 - $30 Remington rebate. I'm considering picking one up and am just curious how reasonable this price is.

    Thx!

    Buy 2 now....

It's a good sell price. Is this at Turners? Also It's the economy version of the 870 (express) but it still is a good shotty.

I know the "sale" price on the 870 express magnum is $299 at Big 5. You could always go down there and ask when it goes on sale next, or if they will just give you the sale price so you could buy it today. I have heard of them doing that before.

I remember seeing last year I believe a sale price of $279 and the $30 rebate for the regular 870. A year ago, the 870 HD was $299 sale price and the $30 rebate also. Came out to $270 or so for the shotgun. Those were the days.... a year ago..

I got it for $279 a few months ago, no rebate, from turners.

Mine was $299 from Big 5 a few months ago. If I had waited a week I could have used the $30 rebate, but the price would have been $289 after the rebate. It was worth $10 to get it a week earlier.

Hmmm...sounds like just an "average" price then......

This is the current Turner's ad if you are interested.

                Thx...

Frankly you should look on Gunbroker for a Police 870. Even with the 5 round tube (which you can extend) and wood stocks it is a much better shotgun then the Express.

I bought an 870 Police years ago...

Nice walnut stock, 3", blued bolt, cool scattergun! I think the 870 Express' are a pretty good deal though... Now with a seven shot tube! If I remember correctly the Express shotguns with the shorter extension tube had a dimple on the feeding tube that needed to be tapped away with a mandrel before you could change to a longer extension. At least one would no longer need to deal with that or the expense of buying the longer extension. An 870 no matter what flavor is just plain old American goodness... I cannot recall, is the blue finish different on the Express?

I've been doing some thinking lately.

The HD scattergun was always supposed to be either the 11-87 police or the M1 Super 90....but then I realized if I actually did need to use it (God forbid)....it would be leaving me when once the Police arrived....and who knows if/what kind of condition it would return in.....

                        $300.....that doesn't hurt so much....
