I found a Beretta 1200 looks nice, but did not handle the gun. The price seems descent about $300. I could not find much on the gun. I guess the label was correct on the gun. Anybody know anything about these shotguns. I guess it has been some time since they were made. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Beretta 1200

Which model 1200? If it's an FP, that's a good price for a Benelli light. I owned one back in the day when 3 gun was just starting and it worked fine. But wanting one moe round made the Benelli Super 90A1 very attractive and I went with the Super 90. Comparing the two side by side there are remarkable resemblance in bolt and controls. Only real difference I can recall is a sleeve over the magazine that the Benelli doesn't have.Larry Renner

great shotguns! I own both, the Benelli m1 and a Beretta 1200. The 1200 actually feels a tad lighter than the m1. I remember paying around $349.00 for the Beretta used. I've had it for a few years now and its ran perfect the whole time. Great deal IMO. If I remember right the Benelli Montefeltro and the Beretta 1200 used the same barrels.Last edited by Austin794; 06-12-2011, 8:19 PM.Comment

The model on the paper tag if I recall was 1200 pd but they may have had it wrong. The 1200 fp. Like I said I just saw the tag but the gun appeared to be in great shape. I know the tag said Beretta and not Benelli. The gun was all black and the tube was maybe 1.5" shorter than the barrel. It also was a semi auto with a stainless handle on the bolt action about 1.5" in length.sigpicComment

The Beretta is a good gun if in it's good shape. You could buy a lot worse guns. I don't know for sure if Beretta was making the Benelli/HK or if it was the other way around, but the guns are very similar, too similar to be a coincidence IMO.
Only down side to the Beretta is aftermarket goodies. But times have changed since I had mine, there may be more gadgets available now.Larry Renner
