    Shotgun red dot

    Hello,

    Will the Barska red dot last if i mounted it in my mossy 500 12ga.? Thinking of putting a red dot on my shotgun.... Help please....

    hmm. i put an eotech knock off on my mossberg just to see how i like it. it hasnt come off yet. i found my 18 in 500 shot really high with slugs. now with a big eotech on top its right on

    i know i didnt answer your question really but, that was my solution

        I wouldn't expect a Barska unit to stand up to the recoil of slugs and buck for very long. Shop around and check the reviews thoroughly on the unit you are considering before you buy.

        That said.... unless you plan on hunting with slugs a red dot on a shotgun is not really needed, IMO.

          Can't speak for the Barska, but my Aimpoint has held up well, over 300 rounds (bird, buck and slugs).

          As BDaP mentioned, only really good for slugs. I can hit about 8 inch circle at 100 yds.

              Mossberg Shooting high? My 18in Mossberg hit exactly where it should using just the bead.

                I had a barska on my M500 for 3 years... held zero. Whats funny is when I put it on the AR it dosnt hold zero, but the shotgun it does. haha.

                  For.... clays or bird hunting? If so, leave the red dot off and go with the plain bead. Results will be much better.
