Mossburg serial number date info needed

Hi Folks I have a Mossburg 500a shotgun and was wondering if anyone can give me me a link to serial number to date lookup. I will call Mossburg tomorrow

The only way I was able to figure out the (round about) date of my 500A was that they started putting serial numbers on them starting in 1968, which mine has & then they went to dual action bars in 1970. Mine only has one bar. From this I determined that mine was made between 1968 & 1969.

Contact Mossberg and they will be able to let you know when it was made.

Yes, the serial number will tell. Email it to Mossberg.
to give you an idea, my 500 starts with J588 and it was made in 1985.

A slight mistake, no...there's a big difference between a few hours & a year. You also added nothing to the discussion except to troll your input. There's a discussion on trolling in the below link. You should post there.

It didn't take a few hours, but certainly less than a year for the response from Mossberg.
