870 Tube Nut

Found it thanks to NDFMF, will be shooting again soon!


A while back I tried to install a POS TacStar (never using their stuff again) forward grip and well it cracked and broke...

Anyways the threads are so fine on the tube assembly and the tube nut that I stripped them by mistake while putting the nut back on the tube...

I've been checking the Remington site for months and they are still out of the tube nut. I already bot the tube assembly. I've also checked some other sites and can't find them.

Anyone know where I can get this so I can get my 870 working again?

They are there, just not in stock. They havn't been for several months. Everytime I go to look it says out of stock and can not be backordered. When I try to buy just to make sure says the same thing... It looks like such a simple part I don't understand why they don't have them and havn't...

I've had good luck with Midway for small parts like that. Looks like they're a little more expensive than RCS, but they have it in stock.

That was listed with the Country Store which is clearance parts. I wonder if it was available from Remington off of the regular part list. If it is at Midway just do that.

The forend tube assembly nuts were on back order for a while but are in as I just got 20. You do not have to buy parts from the country store as anyone can down load the parts list and buy from that. Just go to the main web site, click on Support, click on parts, download the parts list. the country store is for over stock, discontinued and some common parts. It is not the parts list and is even run by a vendor, not Remington.

Midway is charging over $9 for that tube nut yet it is part #18634 and retails for $6.70 on the Remington parts list.

Alway check the part list first when needing Remington stuff or you stand to get burned. For Expample: Midway sells the 20" blued Bead sight barrel for $129.95 and even list it as the correct part number, the problem is that that barrel sells for $117 retail on the Remington parts list. They sell the forend tube assembly for $$45 but are selling the one that comes without the slide. The one Midway sells for $45 is only $34 and once you realize you don't get the slide with it and call them they tell you the slide is $22. So always Check the Remington parts list before buying from anyone.
