QUICK PLEASE! Can I shoot threaded SAIGA without thread protector nut?

Probably a dumb question but heading to range soon and want to be certain its ok to do.

As long as I dont bash the threads on anything, is it ok to shoot a saiga with a threaded barrel WITHOUT anything on the threads?

Also, wouldn't a saiga 12 be in 922r compliance with

    1. Magazine with 3 usa made parts
    2. Removing the threaded nut

    Thanks guys!

Yes it should be in compliance by removing the barrel thread protector and using a fully US made magazine. Your threaded barrel model is 14 foreign made parts, by removing the thread protector and the russian mag (3 parts) you bring it down to 10 foreign made parts which is the magic number. I am not a lawyer so this is not legal advice, just my understanding of the law. Since the threads are all external I dont see how you would damage anything by not using the thread protector, unless you were to do something stupid accidentally. What I would do (just my opinion) is just buy a muzzle break or a polychoke. But if you dont have the cash you should be fine. This is the one I bought

I obviously addressed 922r in my post, but really... Do you know ANYONE who has ever had an issue with it? Most cops have no idea about 922r, and even if they did, how would they have any idea how many parts are in each foreign made rifle/shotgun they come accross? And then how would they know whether or not you changed internal parts like the trigger group, gas puck, piston, etc. It's a joke law. I follow it, and I suggest that everyone does for peice of mind, and incase you do come accross someone who really knows their ****, but I just doubt that is ever going to happen to me. BTW my rant isnt focused on you, just 922r.

I'm not sure if this is sarcasm or a joke. If so, I don't get it. Is there something illegal about what I mentioned?
