Maverick 88 wood stock?

I have an old 20" 8 shot Maverick 88 that I want to put mossberg wood furniture on. Is this possible? I heard the buttstock is not a problem but that forend is not compatible, is this true? Anyone done this before? Pics or suggestions? This was my first shotty bought over 15 years ago and kind of want to bring her out again.

i believe the action bars are permanently attached to the forend of the mav88, so you will need a mossy 500 forend and action bars.

somebody correct me if i'm wrong.

The early 88's used a single action bar. The later used two bars. The Mossberg 500 action bar can be used but you may need to cut off one of the action bars. Buttstock interchanges.
