Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Nice^^^^^
How about this

I think mossberg is smart making this. I WON"T BUY ONE, but at least the are branching out to the mall ninjas that will.
Its about economics. THey will sell these to some guy to shoot it once a year and then show his buddies for the other 364 days.
That means the 500s that I do love will be cheaper down the line and I can buy more.sigpicComment

Looks to me like a solution in search of a problem. It's a breeching tool, IMO, and nothing more. That enormous handle seems like it would make it clumsy and impossible to stow easily / quickly to bring another weapon into play once the door is breached.
I noticed in the vid the presenter said "16 inch barrel". If it's same barrel they sell out in the world (can't imagine it's not for cost / production reasons) the barrel is 16, but the breecher tube on the front is permanently attached which brings it to just over 18" overall and hence no longer an SBS when mounted.
But if they make money on it by selling to gullible LEA and mall ninjas, who cares?

It's almost as silly as the taurus judge! These things are for people who watch lots of TV and don't shoot guns. If someone made a camo pump revolver .410 called the "cornholer" there would be a group of silly people that would buy it and talk of its many tacticle advantages. For 100 to 115 yr we've had win 97 and Browning Auto 5 which have evolved into rem 870,1170, moss 590A1,benellis and berettas. Spend $ on progressive reloaders and training.Does anyone know of a police or military use of a longgun sans stock other than in a B movie?sigpicComment

-John McClaneThat punk pulled a Glock 7 on me. You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. Dosen't show up on your airport X-ray machines, here, and it cost more than you make in a month.Comment

Just because companies make something like this, or the Judge does not mean they are bad companies. I personally think it is stupid to forever shun a company just because they make a few products you don't like (that have no moral/ethical/ legal problems)Originally posted by jessegpresleyMossberg officially jumped the shark with this. I won't be buying any more Mossberg products.
I personally think 1911s are outdated and have no tactical advantage, but people still like them, companies still make them, and I say good for them.
I also think "the chainsaw" is horribly impractical on many levels, but mossberg is still a quality company that makes good products, and I will continue to buy their non-mall ninja items in the futureComment

The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!Comment

The purpose of the chainsaw is for mall ninjas and youtube "experts" to comment on its usefulness. Its a stupid idea but I guarentee it will sell and mossberg will make money. Its on par with the pistol bayonett.Comment

IT'S DESIGNED FOR BREACHING, NOT GENERAL UTILITY USE.
Imagine how you'd hold your regular pistol-grip shotgun, which a lot of people around here seem to think is a good set up, to blow a door and you can see how the chainsaw grip would be much easier to use. LEO types who have seen it did the forehead slap for "Why didn't I think of that?", followed by what took them so long, followed by we gotta get one.
BUT if you're one of those pistol-grip shotgun types, how do you plan on using it around the house, hold it up right in front of your face, or "from the hip"? Using it either way is a crap shoot for accuracy. If you add a laser to make hitting easier, then it doesn't matter if you shoot it from the hip where it's more controllable and less likely to get snatched, and in that hold the chainsaw would be MUCH easier to use.I meant, it is my opinion that...

Just proves the gun manufactures do read these forums and realize there are people out there that will buy any POS if it has a menacing name and every tacticool piece of junk every invented.
I give Mossberg props for recognizing the untapped market share of keyboard commandos out there and giving them what they want. Same goes for Tauras and their Judge line for revolvers. They proved so popular with the UI (unconscienciously Incompentent) that S&W has joined the insanity and is marketing a .410/45 colt revolver.
The 500/590A1/930SPX does everything a boomstick needs to do. Want/need a "breeching" shotgun? Just get a "stand-off" device for your standard barrel and have at it. I don't think a chevron style muzzle brake is going to do much any thing more than add weight on your barrel. It ain't a .50 BMG.Larry Renner
