Well that just sucks. Sorry to hear.

The Hawk is based on the 870, and it's hard to imagine breaking a firing pin on an 870 by dry firing. But for all I know the Chinese are using MIMed cap gun zinc to make their firing pins...

New pin and maybe some snap caps will solve the problem.

Pics aren't showing up for me but I'm sorry about your gun. Luck of the draw, I guess. Contact the company and see if they will give you a new one.

Having worked on thousands of 870's over the years I have never seen a broken firing pin. I have replaced many firing pin retracting springs as these can get weak after about 20 years but never a firing pin. Had a police Chief insist I change out the firing pins opn his rebuilds even after I explained to him they were fine, oh well, I did but only charged him dealer cost for the new pins.

You should never dry fire an 870 more then about 10 million times. don't know about the clones.

I would not bash any model simply because of one part as any weapon can have an issue. It is an easy and inexpensive fix and not worth getting flustered about. It is also a DYI repair and if you get the part and need someone to talk you through it just call.
