    Shotgun shell.

    Hello Guys....

    I will pick up my 1st shotgun next week and i am planning to do some metal plate and paper target shooting. What shell should i get for this kind of shooting and not too expensive too? Please let me know.....

    100 packs of Federal birdshot at Walmart. $22ish

      Depends on what distance and what choke is used. You can use birdshot for most anything but if you're planning on knocking down steel at distances 20 yards and beyond use a Light Modified or Modified choke.

        Tnx' for the info guys. My shotgun is mossberg 500 combo from big 5.... More info for the gun and shell would be great and ones again thank you....

          It being your first shotgun, you may want to start with one of the "managed recoil" loads; they'll be easier on you. Have fun.

              Birdshot is pretty minimal for recoil. But I'm a weenie and I use reduced recoil for my slugs and buckshot.
