    In the Market

I am in the market for a new pump action 12 ga, I used to own a mossberg 500 and enjoyed it a lot. Sold it a while back and now have that good ole 12 ga itch once again. Any recommendations from people on what is preferred and what is avoided when it comes to the new stuff out on the market? Also my type of shotgun is something that I can customize, I enjoy folding stocks, side saddles, dual pistol grips, things of that nature. Essentially tactical shotguns... Let me know what the word is guys. Appreciate it and once again proud of my 2nd amendment.

Why not another Mossberg? Either that or an 870.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

I agree with rromeo, mossy 500 again or a remy 870 are still on top of the roost.

That would still work for me, the only other thing that I am thinking of is maybe a 590? anyone have any thoughts on the 590 over a 500?

the main difference is the 590 has a 20" barrel and can hold 9 rounds. plus you can put an m16 bayonet on the front if you have one...If you go with a 590 make sure it is the 590A1 it has the heavier barrel and is parkerized. And if customizing is a big deal for you, parts are just as easy to find for the 590 as the 500.
I would go with the 590

well than looks like the market hasnt really changed since my last 12 ga... I guess it will be back to the good ole mossy. Now just need to decide on the 590 or 500.

My vote goes for the Benelli Supernova. Either tactical or garden variety. You can customize but the only problem is extra barrels cost almost as much as the gun. Smoothest action compared to the 870 and mossberg and probably just as durable.

Well the market certainly HAS changed, but you mentioned several things you want (dual pistol grip and folding stock for example) that significantly narrows the choices.

If you aren't set on those features and want something a bit more interesting you could go Saiga 12 semi-auto AK platform shotgun

You could also wait a few more months for the KSG pump action 7+7+1 bullpup

Ruled out the Saiga 12, in another state it would essentially be a no brainer, but in cali it just isnt as practical and you cannot legally do anything to it. I am also aware of the KSG the only thing is that I dont really want to wait for it. Have the money now and will be graduating wanna get the firearms while I hvae the time and all for them. Once graduation happens its off to the good ole 9-5 that makes you hate existence sometimes. Any idea on the suspected price though for the KSG I have heard many different things on it, but the price has been either unavailable or have been varying a lot from source to source. Anything from Kel-Tec yet on the price?

mossberg 590 will give you everything the 500 did but 2-3 more rounds and a nice heatsheild. I highly recommend it!

P.S. reloading the keltec is a B*tch, even more so then the 870 which is bad enuf.

Check on the availability of barrels for the Mossberg 590. I believe you will find that there are more available for the 500.
