    ??Moss590 Spray Paint??

    Wassup CalGuns,

Ok here's a question maybe you can shed some light on, I'm planning to paint my barrel and tub mag on my Mossberg 590, I'm really digging the black frame and gray Barrel & Mag look. I asked and looked around and people are telling me Duracoat? I would have to agree as well but the price is kind to steep for just two piece. Here's my thinking and probably some done it or even ask this question.

I was thinking about spray painting is with the patio or bbq spray paint? The your able to get in Home Depot, Loewls, etc...I just that since the Mag runs on tub there is really no heavy friction to the mag and has far as the barrel goes, well this just heat, which the paint is made for, right?

I know it may seem funny, I was even laughing at myself but there is no logic and sense to it, hence the reason why I here asking for some guidance, advice, corrections,etc...before I really regret it or maybe?

Thanks in advance, all members on this site been really helpful ever since I joined.

I don't paint guns, however, the older Remington barrels have a barrel ring that has a lot of nickel in it so it will not take the parkerizing. I was keeping cans of Brownells tactical black in the shop for the occassional barrel ring. Once a can would not work and I did not want to hold the refinishing job up waiting on a Brownells order so I went to Wal-mart and got a can of flat black BBQ grill paint and used it. Worked so well that is all I use now. So go for it. If it doen's work well ( but I am sure it will), so what, strip it and use any of the Brownell's epoxy based paints as they are same as Dura Coat which is simply a name brand. Your out very little if the BBQ paint does not work.
