    A buddy of mine is thinking about getting a new Nova for $330.

          He says HD, it comes with chokes, though. Not sure where he's getting it, he just sent me an email about it.

              IMHO only,
              The gun would work fine for HD, but does have a bit long of a barrel to be considered traditional HD (most here including me would say 20" max to be practical)

              Extra Benelli barrels are expensive though, if he wants a purely HD gun I would say find the model with the shorter barrel.

                  I heard you about the barrels, cheaper for me to get another shotgun than to get a hunting barrel for the HD one I have at home.
