    Shotgun sights

I have an 18 1/2in Wingmaster barrel that appears to have had most of the vent rib removed and the remaining piece at the front filed down and shaped similar to a blade sight. Effective but not pretty. What are my options for sights on this? It's going to be used primarily for slugs. I'm looking for something to install to the barrel only. Really like the peep sights.

Pics? I don't recall Remington putting ribs on 18.5 inch barrels so wondering if it was a home chop?

You might be able to get the vent rib taken back a bit more and have a proper front sight installed. Then you can have the receiver drilled and tapped for a ghost ring. Might be cheaper, in the long run, to find a 20 inch rifle sighted barrel and go with that.

It may be an actual front sight, but looks like it's been filed and hacked. The barrel was free so I can't complain.

Well... free is always the best kind.

If you want to barrel mount the rear sight you could go with something like this. It's a fairly close approximation of the Remington factory rear sight.

You'd need a sight blade to go with it, and it's not a DIY job to put it on unless you are skilled.

Failing that, a ghost ring rear sight, which would require the receiver to be drilled and tapped is your other fairly quick to get done alternative.
