    Old JC Higgins 20-12GA

I have an old JC Higgins 20-12ga that was left to me after a close family member passed away. It hasn't been used in years and I want to check the bolt carrier for rust or any other problems before I take it out to the range. Just one problem, I don't know how to get the darn thing out. I'm mostly a rifle man and this thing isn't built like modern shotguns. So what I'm trying to say here is HELP. Also, I'm new to Calguns so if this is in the wrong spot, sorry.

Got one a few weeks ago in a batch of long guns. Mine has the Power-Pak screw in choke setup. Yesterday I gave the gun a quick cleaning, a good once-over, pulled the choke out, and took it out back for a test fire. One shot, one jackrabbit. Good enough for me.

Thanks for all the help. Mine also has an adjustable choke with a compensator that makes it look mean, love it.

Mine just has the "Long Range" choke.

I was a little concerned with the air gap and the plastic wad in shells with the fingers that open. They probably don't open quick enough to possibly catch on the edge, but I just left it out. All I'll ever use it for is short-range rabbit shooting.

                Sweet gun, though.
