    Saiga 12 BIG Problem

Last weekend while shooting out in the sticks, I had the dumbest idea of field stripping my S12 to clean it. BIG Mistake. Somehow, the bolt fell off the bolt support and I lost it between rocks.
Short of getting a backhoe and digging out a square mile of desert, I spent hours looking for it, but no luck.
Now, the question I've been dreading to ask: Am I screwed? or is it a part that I can get somewhere?
I feel pretty crappy already, so take it easy!

I just got one from Saiga Stock. Now, I need to make sure the headspace with the new bolt is correct. Does anyone have a simple explanation of how to check it?

      Thanks,

I carry one of those collaspable shop magnet "brooms" in my truck. Not that it helps you now, but something to help down the road. Makes for easy cleaning up of steel case ammo when out on BLM land.

This is a good idea; I have also found these useful for when at the range, you want to scoop up all of your brass without investigating each piece - to review later; pass the magnet broom FIRST over the area you want to sweep to pick up the steel, toss those out, then go back and scoop randomly for your brass.
