Rented a Rossi Tuffy today

Went to Target Masters West today to goof off with three of my .22's and saw a little Tuffy leaned against the wall as a rental. Big 5 had one on sale for $115 (which I should've just bought right then and there), but without ever firing one, I didn't think it was right to do so. Now they are $165, which isn't that bad, but it's tax time for me right now .

So today, I decided to rent one and try a box of rounds. Boy, was it fun!

I thought I would've had a hard time with quick reloading, but it wasn't a problem at all. I was thinking it would make a great BOB gun for an automobile if transported legally and safely. It is very short, since it is a youth gun, but I had no problem hitting the black at 7-10 yard just pointing it. Very, very little recoil.

My biggest problem is the cost of .410 shells. I went through the box of 20 pretty quick.

I don't know... I may save up and get myself one. I really liked the feel, weight, and idea behind a quick loading .410 single shot (oxymoron?).

I would pick the H&R singe shot if I was you. Both break action single shot. Both cost the same. Rossi is made in Brazil, H&R in the states

Thanks for the advice! How's the length of the H&R? The length of the Rossi is very appealling to me.

I am pretty sure it was this one, but you can look at other models too. I would contact a local dealer, maybe they can get you one for less than what overpriced Big 5 asks for.
