Question for the SG graybeards ...

Are the barrels all the same for the Savage 720, 745, 755 and 775? Will any or all of these barrels properly fit a Remington Model 11?

The 720 and 745, the latter with an alloy receiver, were licensed knockoffs of the Auto 5, which the Remington 11 was also. I would think that barrels would largely interchange as they are largely the exact same gun produced on pretty much the same tooling.

The 755 / 775 more closely follow the style of the Remington 48 and later guns with the much more streamlined and rounded receiver. While they use the same basic Browning long recoil design to operate, I don't know if those barrels would interchange with a Model 11.

Thanks for your response. I've done some more internet mining, but without decidedly definitive results. As usual, a lot of conjecture is presented as fact. So far it seems that many/most of the Remington 11 and Savage 720 parts are interchangeable. Less certain re the later Savage revisions, though it seems most of the barrels will swap. We'll see.
