    Spec.-Ops. Ready-Fire Shell Pouch

I am looking for others with experience with the "Spec.-Ops. Ready-Fire" ammo carrier. It looks bulky, and is not super fast tacti-cool, but it looks like a secure way to attach extra shells to the gun. I'll point out I dislike the receiver mounted ammo carriers, I want the shells on the stock. I have an elastic cuff type holder now, but it moves very easily, and doesn't cover the shells at all. The leather, lace-up type carriers are very nice, but out of the budget. Thank you in advance for your input or suggestions.....

    Info on item:
*Pouch and harness made from 100 D. Cordura fabric and tough nylon webbing.
*Dura-Lastic shell loops securely hold up to 8 rounds of 12 gauge ammo in place.
*Fits shell lengths up to 3 1/2".
*Wide Spaced loops specially designed for use while wearing gloves.
*Full length top flap keeps ammo clean, dry and out of harms way.
    *USA made

    Too big. Side saddle wins

Flap gets in the way. Side saddle wins

Makes shooting week side difficult. Side saddle wins

Rounds are too far away from loading port. Side saddle wins

you might wanna consider getting stripper clips for faster reloads. they are more price but actually work for reloading on the go.

Have you used this model? I currently have an elastic-cuff side saddle. It moves very easily, and slides up towards the receiver after shooting 2-3 high-base rounds.....

This is for a Mossberg 500.

I have a side saddle on my stock and it works well. It's just one of the standard Mossberg ones. With that said, it sucks if you happen to be shooting from a prone position. Given a choice, I think the most versatile is a receiver mounted saddle. Closest to the mag well and ejection port. The cordura ones mounted with velco look to be a good way to go.

I was looking at one of these from another maker. At the end of the day, it was just too bulky.

This is for a Mossberg 500.
Regardless of "what model" it is, and what shotgun it is for. They are all the same to me, impractical.

Look at the velcro mounted side saddle.

Thanks for your input. I am not interested in mounting shells on my receiver though.....

BTW the elastic butt cuff should be mounted firmly, and NOT moving up the stock.
