mossberg 500 and 870 barrel interchangeable?

Are mossberg 500 and remington 870 barrels interchangeable?

The reason I ask Is because I want a specific barrel thats for an 870 but made by mossberg But ironically, I cannot locate one specifically for my mossberge 500.

No the barrels are not inter-changable. You are getting confused simply because Mossberg makes an after market barrel for the 870. This is of course because the 870 being a superior weapon Mossberg wants to cash in on some the success the 870 has had for over 60 years. And of course Remington does not make any barrels for the Mossberg shotgun.

The after market barrel that Mossberg makes for the 870 only fits the 870 and does not fit any of the Mossberg models.

I could simply say that Mossberg is doing the poor remington owners a service since apparently remington can't polish chambers properly at the factory and as a result every week someone here asks why their brand new 870 jams

Just make a trade offer. There are folks out there that have them and don't want them. It's worth a try anyhow....

Mossberg makes a great door buster barrel for the 870. Comes with a standoff breaching cage on it. Awesome!

Another option would be to contact King Armory and see if they can modify one of theirs to fit.
