    Best Optic for Benelli M4

If you don't have a nice opinion or think there is no reason for an optic on a shotgun, please don't waste my time and post. For those of you who have an opinion or actually own an M4 or similar shotgun and have an optic on it, what do you recommend for home defense / shooting slugs at 100 yd steel targets, at which I'm currently hitting around 3 out of 5 with the ghost rings.

I'm looking at the Trijicon RMR and the Aimpoint T1. Any suggestions, comments, or remarks?

    Thanks in advance.

Slugs: Burris Fast Fire II: good field of view, both eyes open
00 buck: Flashlight undermount: buckshot will hit where light shines.

Fired a friend's M4 with a T1 aimpoint. It was very nice, lightweight. And of course its an aimpoint.
The "best" handgun caliber debate rages on, meanwhile I just keep buying low recoil 00 buck.

I run a T1 on mine. I did it mainly for standardization as that is what I run on my carbine.

If you are running the factory Benelli stock I recommend the lowest possible mount for the T1 to aid in cheek weld. I use the Larue low mount. If you are using an after market stock like the Urbino from Mesa Tactical this appears to be less of an issue but individual results will vary.

        Enjoy the M4.

I've used The T-1 and ML2 Aimpoints on my M4. They both work great.

I've been looking at a Zeiss Compact Point for my M4:

I put this Burris Speedbead on my M1 and it works great. Very fast target acquisition and followup.

I also put this on my Kimber plate rack gun (practical pistol). I get to try it out this weekend.

Thanks for the input guys, I think I'm going to start off with the RMR then possibly switch over to a T1 if I don't like the profile / height of the mount.

I like the look of that optic, and only reason I wasn't going with a T1, which I have on my AR, is I want a better field of view, rather than getting stuck looking down the tube of the optic. But I might try the rmr out, then if it doesn't work out I'll just put it on another rifle. appreciate the input.

I dont have optic but I read all the time you need a new rail. I guess the stock rail is not in spec and tears stuff up? Again I dont have optic so I am only goin by what I have read hundreds of times.

I also think the RMR is a good choice post up pics with your thoughts after you get it.

With the T-1 you are shooting with both eyes open, right? There should be no field of view problem.
