    Help with a Remington 870

Hi all. I've got a Remington 870 and I'm trying to swap out the factory stock for a Knoxx SpecOps Stock. The problem is I cannot for the life of me get the screw to budge that's holding the buttstock in. I'm not a tiny fella and I'm generating plenty of torque with a solid screwdriver but I'm about to saw the dang stock off out of frustration. In the absence of any ideas, does anyone know a Remington amorer in the San Jose area? Sorry for the lame questions.

Tried a lil CLP or lubricant on the screw to maybe help loosen it up? Just a suggestion.

I never had that problem when I swaped out my stocks.
The screws popped out easy for me.

      Hi Marc,

      (thats my name too )

You might try using an impact screwdriver to get it off (its often not the torq that is needed, but a suden shock to break the threads loose.

If you don't have one, I'd soak the stock bolt with KROIL or some other penetrating oil (actual penetrating oil, not just WD40 although that 'might' work if its all you can get) then try breaking it loose.

Or you can try using one of those ratchet wrenches with a 1/4" bit attachment to generate the necessary torque.
