my first shotgun Moss 590A1 mod# 52682

Hi First of all I'm new here. now that that is out. I am In the process of getting my First shotgun. I'v decided to get a 590a1. I was wondering if there are any little things I may need to know about this shotgun. I have read a lot of reviews on it and have only herd good things but i just want to know a lot on this gun. so here are some questions I have. Thank you ahead of time

It there a good +2 mag extension?
Would the AmeriGlo Mossberg 590 A1 Night Sight be a good addition?
Any recommended light mounts?

I think that is all that I would like to do to this gun.

There are none in stock in my area. that was the one I was after. thought it would be nice to have the extra rounds and I also have the bayonet for it.

My first and only shotgun is a mossberg 590 from big 5. Great gun.

My 590a1 has been awesome. I tried the knoxx setup on it for a while, but didn't like it. I'm now back to stock configuration. The gun is pretty heavy, partially due to the thicker barrel, so I reccommend a good sling to help with the weight. Other than that a side saddle is a great addition. Have fun!

I would go with the XS express sights and a hogue 12 inch lop stock. Choate makes a +1 mag extension for the 590a1.

I recently got a 590A1 from Davidson's through my local gun shop. I got model #51668 {9 shot, 20" heavy barrel, speed-feed stock & ghost sights} although I wanted the one that came with the bayonet & ported barrel but I couldn't find it. One night while I was checking different gun shops on-line I saw that Davidson's had 3 model #51668 left. I left the site looking for the one I wanted, came back an hour later & they had sold another one. So two were left. I again left the site & came back an hour or so later & one more had sold! They only had one left! I figured I'd better 'pull the trigger' on the purchase while I had the chance! At the time they also had several of the 9 shot 590A1's w/out ghost sights & speed-feed stock. I just checked now & no 9 shot 590A1's left. They must go fast! Bill

yeah here i did not have the time to get the 9shot with bayonet lug. the store i go to had five of them in and in about 3 hours they were gone. so I picked up the last one they had wich it the 18.5'' with speed feed stock. I like it but it is still not the one i wanted. and i needed a shotgun so i can always buy one later. how do you like the speed feed stock?

whoops! Sorry I just now saw the post! I wasn't going to get the speed stock but I'm glad I did now. Although I did read something about rounds falling out of it. I think it looks 'cool'!!! At first I just wanted the 'basic' stock & was going to put a Knoxx on it but I've since read bad reviews on them. I don't know why I just can't leave 'well enough' alone!!! I've got to change everything!!! Oh, you could probably put a 20" barrel on it with an extension for 9 rounds... Although you can't buy the ported heavy barrel from Mossberg. I called 'em & they said 'Not for Sale'.... Bill

Thanks bill. I think i'm going to leave my stock the way it is to get a feel for it. I don't have her yet but I get her out of jail a week from this tusday. I wonder why they don't sell the heavy barrel?

I picked up my 9 shot M590A1 w/ ghost sights last month.
Solid construction and couldn't be happier with my purchase.
Big ups to Ammo Bros in Cerritos for staying on the local distributors to bring in this beast of a shotgun

Good purchase, it's all about 8+1 and a bayonet lug though [kidding of course]

All around a solid shotgun, LOP is a little long however. Unless you have some seriously long monkey arms I'd go along with the 12" LOP Hogue stock as mentioned earlier.

This is the only one I've found that looks SOLID. [hint scroll to the bottom of the page].

I've looked at a bunch of others that look less than stable or otherwise look like they go on a damn airsoft gun.

Thank jdewolf. I think I am going to get 12" LOP Hogue. as for the light mounts it dos seem like the options are really limited.
