    Problem with BHO on Saiga-12

I'm having a problem with my BHO. When the trigger is pulled back and I engage the BHO it rises up too high(rises above the rail/groove) and stops the bolt from coming back completely. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Why are you pulling the trigger AND engaging the BHO? Just curious

From your pic, you have the selector removed. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the selector keeps the BHO againt the wall of the receiver. Are you shooting it without the selector?

      Just checked...

The hammer spring keeps it pushed to the side. Both at the pivot point (hammer pin) and at the trigger. I can make it rise too high if I pull to the right when engaging it, but it wants to return to it's natural place against the receiver.

Is your hammer/trigger spring seated correctly (on the trigger)? If it doesn't push out (to the right) against the BHO, it is not seated properly. You may need to bend it out a little.

Oh okay, I'll bend the spring out toward the BHO, thanks.

The recommendation to bend the spring should help with your issue, however, that is not the cause of the problem, or the ultimate cure. After performing hundreds of FCG modifications over the last few years, I can tell you that the cause of this issue is that your Hammer is not cut to the correct width. The hammer actually keeps your BHO inline and keeps it from bybassing the the rail and locking up your action. Only reliable fix is to install a new hammer that is cut to the correct width (measured from side to side where the pin goes through). This is a very common problem we run into when people convert the Saigas.

Let me know if you would like any further details.

Can you give the dimensions of the hammer width I should be looking for? I'm not having a problem but I would like to check what is there.

The hammer with should not be less than 1.020". Any less and your BHO starts to have issues.

This is a good reason why people should buy a pre-modded FCG instead of trying to mod a generic G2. It takes a lot of guesswork out of the conversion and sames time. For the extra $20 or so on top of a generic G2 it removes a lot of the headaches in the conversion process.
