ANOTHER SaigaS12 Question- Conversion price- worth it?

I'm not afraid to get dirty and do a little work. With that being said, is it worth it to pay $1000 for a converted Saiga or is it a better value to do it yourself? Are there many options if you do it yourself(IE:can pick your destination) or will you basically end up with the same $1000 dollar shotgun with same parts/same end price?

Doyou have time to do the connversion? Do you have the 1k set aside for the conversion. Either way, get it done.

Do the conversion, you will get to choose your pistol grip and stock. Check this place out http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com. You can piece a kit together or buy a complete kit. I am choosing to piece one togther. Pick up my S-12 in a few days and just ordered my parts.

I think you would be better off doing the conversion yourself. Honestly it doesn't look hard at all and doesn't take much as far as tools. Pretty much drill, punch, hacksaw/dremel/file for an internal block for the stock and some paint...

definitely do the conversion yourself. get your choice for buttstock and pistol grip, plus the joy of doing the work yourself as well as learning about your gun while you're at it. it's not difficult to do. cost-wise, you're probably talking somewhere around $200-$300 in parts for the conversion.

another plus of doing the conversion yourself? you can sell the take-off parts to make back a small amount of the expense of the conversion.

Depending on your choice of stock, you can convert for about $180 in parts.

and after you do the conversion you will know your saiga inside and out .
