I have a Remington 11-48 16ga. that in very good condition. It has been handed down in the family and I am looking to possibly sell it. I would like so advise as to its value.

11-48's are not a highly sought after shottie. You may be able to get a few hundred out of it.
If it were me and it was handed down as you say, I would simply keep it in the family....but I would keep it as original as possible and not chop the barrel for home defense or something like that.
If you have never shot one, go out to the trap range and give it a go, it's lots of fun and you may pick up a new hobby. -
