Looking for a new upland game gun

I'm looking for a 12g semi auto that is LIGHT. I currently use a Remington 1100 and after humping up hill after hill I'm tired of carrying the weight of this gun. I'm looking at the Benelli Montefeltro. Any recs? I'm looking to stay at about $1100.

If you want light, check out the Browning Maxus or the Beretta A400 Light...

I was on a similar hunt for an upland game gun. I found the new Beretta XFOR's to be *really* light and fast. They are up there in cost...around $1200-$1400 depending on the model.

obDisclaimer: I ended up buying a used AL391 because it came with case, tools, and 5 chokes for $800.

There is a 12 gauge Montefeltro Silver in the for sale forums right now.

Hard to go wrong with one of these, IMO.

I've owned lots of shotguns and shot lots of shotguns. My preference is the Benelli
m1 or m2. You can get them in varying barrel lengths and they are pretty light and extremely reliable. They also sell them in wood stocks for a true upland look and can be had for around $850-$900 new. I will add that O/U's with a little swing weight work quite good as well. It's all about the hunter/type of hunt/location of hunt which dictates the shotgun I use. Just a few thoughts before you make the plunge.

Don't get a plastic space gun for hunting. Get something with wood furniture.

There are three great field scatterguns out there. In no particular order:
                        Beretta
                        Browning
                        Benelli

I recommend holding them all to see what one you prefer.

I have a Beretta Extrema and Browning Gold Hunter. I held the Benelli and it felt kinda plasticy/cheap? When I go out I seem to always grab the Beretta.
If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of payments.

Yeah thanks a lot Tanner68. I'm exhausted from humping up hills because of you! That's why I want to get a lighter gun. Thanks for responding to my post. And yes, I want the wood furniture.

If you're on a tight budget you might want to consider the Mossberg 930. It's a gas operated system and from the reviews I've read is a very reliable gun.
