Depends. If they're rifled slugs, then they should be safe to shoot through any type of choke. Contrary to popular belief, the rifling isn't there to impart spin, it's there so that the slug can squeeze through a tight choke.

I'd be a lot more careful with unrifled slugs. Cylinder and IC should be OK, but modified is pushing it.

        +1 perfect

your arm might hurt if you dont have some kinda recoil reductino system and shoot a lot of them.

Very similar to why floor tile is grouted with gaps in it?

I don't know. I don't know anything about floor tile.

              Apparently they're grouted with gaps.

I forgot to say that my Big 5 barrel has many slugs through it.

cool, thanks. Am hoping to get a 20 or 22 in barrel for slugs but if I don't get it in time wanted to make sure riffled slugs would be ok.

                  thanks

A smooth bore barrel with a fixed choke that is at modified should be fine with Foster or Brenneke type rifled slugs. It would be able to shoot sabot slugs as well, but the accuracy would not equal sabot slubs fired through a rifled barrel.

Chokes tighter than modified are often not recommended for shooting slugs, particularly if the barrel is equipped with choke tubes.
