    Winchester 1300 Defender Scope mount

I have seen some mounts for this winchester 1300 from ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/Redfield-RSM-8-W...item19c2eb08be

is this one and ones like it any good? Im trying to use a red dot scope on it.
    any ideas?

Im just scared it will move around cause there is no holes to screw it down.

i had mine mounted locally by a gunsmith. had it drilled and tapped for it. think thatd be a more reliable way to mount it since 12 gauge is such a heavy round.

Interesting - I've never seen this, and have spent a good bit of time researching 1300 mounts.

Looks like a Redfield re-label of the Aimtech ASM-8 mount.

There have been a lot of this style mount made for a variety of shotguns, and they're typically not bad, but add more bulk and weight than just getting a rail drilled and tapped.

              This has worked for me.
Mesa Tactical designs and manufactures American-made, duty-grade firearm and shotgun accessories trusted by law enforcement and professionals.

I would not drill and tap the 1300.
