    FN Self-Loading Police Shotgun (SLP)

Anybody know where to get the best deal for the FN SLP (retail or online)? Is this model still in production?

      Ray Tanner

I agree with moorepoop4u, go through Ray Tanner, he is the cheapest you will find! I bought mine last year from him and his price hasn't increased more than $20.00. Great shotgun for the money, I really enjoy mine!

I just picked one up from Ray Tanner too. Great price an excellent follow up service too. I tried to buy local first, but every local place that I looked at before purchasing my SLP either did not stock it or it was at least $1000-1200 and they had to special order it.

It is going to be hard to find one for much under a $1000. The dealer cost on them has increased by about $150 from last years price. I have them for $989 but shipping to CA is going to run about $25.

Are you sure about that? I bought mine from Ray Tanner, and he has them for $699.00 on Gunbroker. Took me less than 1 minute to find that deal!

It is true. Dealer cost with shipping on them now is running about $935. I checked all of my suppliers.

Don't you find it odd that Ray Tanner is the only one selling them that cheap. He must be selling off stock that he bought before the price change. I Guarantee he will not be able to sale them that cheap for long. Those who want one better get one from Ray cheap while you can.

CDNN had them on sale before Christmas before the price change but not as cheap as Ray is selling them. Someone email Ray and ask him why he can sale them so cheap.

I've got the FN SLP Mk 1, which is a little newer, a little longer, holds more rounds in the mag, and instead of the ghost ring sight it has a cantilever Weaver rail over the receiver. I put a open frame BSA holosight on it, and it rocks! It's a great shooter!

I got mine after trying a friend's standard FN SLP (the one you pictured above) at the range, and decided I HAD to have one of my own.

I opted for the Mk 1, which had just become available, and had Wes at TPF special order me one. I wasn't looking for the rock bottom price, Wes is always fair on his pricing, and I wanted to give him the business.

I know CWS carries FN shotguns on a regular basis, so you might look there.

I've had it for a while now, so I'm sure the prices have gone up since I got mine.

                          Mike100

Yesterday I asked Ray Tanner Jr. how he could sell the FN SLP so cheaply. I mentioned to Ray that ive done my research all over the net and haven't been able to find any SLP's cheaper then $999, he just told me he does a lot of bushiness with FNH and that's just simply the price he can run on them. Price is $699 for both the 18" and 22" mark I and that price has been firm for a while now (years). That being said I bought (2) 18" SLP's on the spot

My question is... Looking at the FNH SLP 18" version I've seen two different setups, I've noticed that some SLP 18" versions have longer barrels then others. Do the older SLP's have true 18" barrels while the newer SLP's have 18.5" barrels? Why did the lengthen the barrel? any info on this would be great!!!!!

                          Example..

You should see about getting a longer mag tube extension for your 18.5" SLP that will be even with the end of the barrel. If the extension was even with the muzzle it would probably hold 7 in the tube. I could probably fix you up with one.

The next tube size up would be a 4 shot mag tube which is what is on the 22" SLP mark I, If I intall a 4 shot I would have a tube way longer then the barrel. I mean a 1/2" inch isnt bothersome at all, im just curious why they did this.

I dont think by adding a 1/2" to my exsisting tube would give me an extra shell capacity, as you know the shells id be shooting are 2 3/4" & 3" . Maybe im not picking up what your putting down, maybe you can you explain to me in further detail your ideas as I would love to hear them. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about this shotgun.

                              Thanks
