Custom Gunstocks

Have any of you guys had your stocks tailored to fit you? I was shooting trap a couple of weeks ago and there was a guy offering to take a look at your gun to see how it fit you. He seemed to make a lot of sense, but I just wanted to see if anyone else has done it. If you have gotten your stock fitted to you how do you like it?

If you're serious about shotguns, get the gun fitted to you. More important, verify the credentials of the person doing the fitting.

Shotgun fitting

Where are you located? There's a thread that I previously started about fittings in Southern California. I can pull it up if you can't find it.

Guy who did mine (one was a 686 silver pigeon, the other a Rem SP) was name Brad, work was done at a now defunct gunshop in Dallas in the late-80's. I'd inquire on a shotgun sports internet forum...I just don't know where to send you. Mine were optimized for skeet, as clays were just starting in DFW then & I had more fun shooting/eating real birds than playing sporting clays. Fitting the guns made a significant difference in my skeet scores & definitely helped in the field.

Only clue I can think of might be to contact one of the beretta salons & see who they'd recommend in your area. The guy who did my guns claimed a good fitting job resulted in a gun you could mount perfectly with your eyes closed; he was correct.

If you are running an 1100 rem check out jack west stocks. Nice adjustable comb stocks. For a high end shotgun try g-squared in ramona ca. VEry nice product that is fitted to any gun.

SamIam ~ I am in the San Francisco Bay Area. I searched on calguns for threads, I guess my searching was not extensive as it should have been.

-hanko ~ I have tried to talk to some of the guys I see at the range but I do not want to ask question after question on what they did to their guns and who did it. Thanks for the tip to go to a more specialized site to get my questions answered, back to Google. I have never heard of a berretta Salon, what is it?
