All Around Shotgun

Does anyone know which Remington shtogun can be used for Turkey and up land bird hunting. I want to buy one shotgun that I can hunt all birds, any ideas?

I would assume any 28" Rem 870. Just change chokes & loads. You could also get a shorter barrel for turkey.

My personal favorite hunting gun is the Remington 11 recoil operated simi auto.

all Remington auto's and pumps have interchangeable barrels however, so you might want to be a bit more specific about what you're looking for.

I've turned into a big semi-auto fan, and don't shoot my pumps much any more.

A Remington 11-87 would work. Their Super Magnum series handles shells from 2 3/4" to 3 1/2". That and the right chokes would cover the whole range from turkey on down, and they have them with synthetic stocks and corrosion resistant coatings for field and waterfowl use. There are other 11-87s that don't go to 3 1/2, but still handle 3". They're even pretty affordable used, if you look around.

The 1100 is a great gun, and even more affordable, but they only shoot magnum or regular, not both from the same barrel. To use one for turkeys, you'd want to buy a 3" magnum and a spare 2 3/4" barrel that you could swap out. Might as well buy the 11-87 and keep it simple.
