I dunno about the actor, but the prop guy sure don't.

As far as the film still - probably held as it is on the direction of the director. Or... some shooting styles have the shooter disregard which eye is dominate. You train and shoot at more of a blade angle and use the eye on the exposed side regardless of dominate eye.

And yes, that is an awfully small bore on a very short silencer.
