shotgun PPT?

Yes. Question, when did the PPT law take effect. I inherited a couple of firearms about 20 years ago and at the time at least one qualilfied as an antique, then 120 years old. The other was then about 90 years old. Am I a criminal?
Edit: I looked up the answer and the OP may wish to check the sorce, which is a handbook called California Firearms Laws 2007 found online at http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/forms/pdf/Cfl2007.pdfLast edited by TheKlawMan; 01-24-2011, 6:25 PM.Comment

No you're not a criminal. If the gun is over 50 years old then there is no need for a DROS. I believe the DROS is still needed for pistols. i think there is a cut off for those but I dont remember what the time frame is.Comment

Correct.
All handguns manufactured after 1898 must be transferred the same as a modern handgun.
Long guns over 50 years old are "cash and carry" unless it is an interstate transfer.
Holders of an 03FFL may receive C&R long guns directly from out of state, and they may travel to another state, purchase, and import (for personal use) C&R long guns and handguns.
Handguns must be declared and registered ($19), but do not need to go to a dealer for DROS.
The definition of "antique" is currently fixed at 1898 and earlier. That date does not roll forward the way the C&R status does. An 1898 gun was an antique 10 years ago, and an 1899 gun will not be an antique next year.- Rich
