Any 870 with the right upgrades is equal. And I could state due to some of the accessories on that weapon that a Basic 870 HD is better in a gun fight.

You ask a subjective question and have not given one single fact that proves this weapon is anything but an 870 with a worked over barrel that has some features that may or may not enhance performance. It has the exact same parts as other builders and what you are comparing are accessories. Name one single part in this weapon that is not in other 870's, just one...... This weapon is made by Remington not Vang Comp. It is an 870.

Yes, it is a fine weapon. I am in no way putting it down nor putting Hans Vangs work down. He called me once and I told him that me getting to talk to him was like I was a High school football coach getting to talk to Tom Landry. He has forgot more about these shotguns then I know. But the lack of basic knowledge out there by the average gun guy about these weapon is a feeding pan for many in this business. His weapons are very fine shotguns but are no more the "Better" or "Best" then any others of the 870's out there. It simply comes down to what a buyer wants in accesories and of course some one to stand behing his work 100% like Hans does.

You have some nice 870's OP and I am not putting them down. I just making clear what they are so others understand. "Better" is a subjective term and what you think is better has little to do with what others think and is of course an opinion since you can't base it on any facts. These are the subject type post that get the most responses because guys can state an opinion and not have to back it up. This one will get some traffic as even the mossberg guys are already jumping in and soon some one will jump in that his hawk is just as good.

thanks for pointing that out prc77 - I missed the point as my internet was loading so slow and all the pictures were not loading fast enough for the entire thread to pop up. I jumped on the first impression which of course as it always will makes one an A** with feet sticking out of ones mouth. Of course this is the first time I have been wrong this years. Anyway, as prc77 pointed out. My answer had nothing to do the with OP's post as I read the first part and responed incorrectly, so end this and start another thread on porting and back boreing of shotguns if you want. Be sure to include "on weapons that are intended for slugs and buckshot" and not regular bird shot type loads.

I'm in no way trying to say my 870 is better than any other shotgun out there.
Use whatever works for you..mossberg, benelli, wichester, etc.
My apologies if I ruffled any feathers out there..
